A real turning point for Michelle Wie’s golf career at the Solheim Cup…

Monday, August 24th, 2009

Did you see the Solheim Cup finals? Wow!

I really got that this was a real turning point in Michelle Wie’s career as a true upcoming LPGA touring star. You see her determination as a  individual player in the singles matches and her new found strength  as a group team member. You see them both working as one for the American effort.

What a thrill to play for your country?

Winning three points in her first Solheim Cup appearance was impressive indeed. And helped the team defeat the Euros here on American turf in Illinois.

I think the golf camaraderie and sense of bonding with other key US players for Michelle, who has been labeled a bit of an isolationist and into her own thing as a player, will redefine her career and direction. And not only make her a better player but send her in the right orbit to higher heights.

Look for Michelle to go and win her first LPGA event this Fall. Like autumn, you can feel it in the golf air from where I am these days.

This is exciting!

That’s how I see it for the time being.

How YE Yang Defeated Golf’s Best Player Tiger Woods

Monday, August 17th, 2009

Wow. What a great finish to the PGA Championship here this Sunday!

I practically jumped off the couch when YE pitched in on the par four for eagle. And then went toe to toe with Tiger.

This had to be the best Sund major finish in many years and brought the word “excitement” back into the majors on Sunday.

YE looks like a miniture Tiger Woods in many ways. He’s got a great golf swing and has a mental game based on two key ingredients: courage and believe in self.

I am so glad to see a player step up to the plate and say: I can do this why not. Just play golf and play my own game. Tiger’s great but so am I.

This did more for the game of golf here –especially internationally golf –with Yang becoming the first male Asian golfer to win a major here in America.  Just like “Tiger mania” in 1997 with Woods winning the Masters, now Yang is the “mania” for many Asian young players to follow, play more golf and play professionally.

Way to go YE Yang and thanks for a great Sunday showing of golf’s best major of the 2009 season and year!

Perhaps we”ll see Tiger and Yang go mano to mano at the President’s Cup next month in San Francisco here in the President’s Cup. That would be a great rematch wouldn’t it.

For all you golfers out there, YE Yang’s SECRET has to do with his great sense of balance and ability to rotate his trunk and the swinging club head in superb timing. A lot like Tiger hey.

Tiger Woods and Y.E. Yang Go Head to Head..!

Sunday, August 16th, 2009

Tiger makes birdie at 11 and looks like he’s ready to close it with most of the major players out of it but don’t can’t out Y.E. Yang. who swings great and could be Korea’s best upcoming player.

Let’s see what happens. Yang looking comfortable and hanging with Tiger!

Could Yang pull off the biggest underdog victory of golf’s four majors?

Y. E. takes the lead with a pitch in at 14 th. Tiger responds by making his  putt!

So exciting here!

More later.
